[mood |you need schoolin]
[music |Beatles, The with "Please Mister Postman"]

Merova, now a pale spectre of herself, jabbed a bony
finger at the king, commanding:
Turning to go, Callidus stopped the witch and demanded
of her one last word, which she gave before vanishing:
Thus shall the battle begin, said Callidus.

Callidus Pertica, Ch. 23, Verses 1-12 [Jan. 7th, 2004|10:21 pm]
[mood |and i swear that i don't have]
[music |King Salad with "Til She Finds Out" from Manifold Destin]

Let it come as it come; let it be as it be
What delusion! What imagery! What a simple pure
flower of hurt! what comes of what isn't!
What nonsense and poppycock! What imagined
fantastic! This isn't what it seems when a man
creeps out of the woods to wash off his dirt, that
of the past eight years, where he wallowed in
smug self-assured ignorance, in smug atheism,
where he dwelled, and, finally, this day, he
emerges confident of his place -- and a crowd
points him out upon said emergence:
"Look, he is in the wilderness."

Callidus Pertica, Ch 13, Verses 66-71 [Jan. 7th, 2004|08:53 pm]
[mood |ghosts appear and fade away]
[music |Weezer with "Keep Fishin'" from Maladroit, here on WCCG]

Will the fire burn on for him when he appears
from his exile in intellect?
Or will his body stand frozen in both temperature
and motion, while the fickle spirit refuses him
warmth and steady relief from that cold winter's
midnight and her cruel breeze?

Callidus Pertica, Ch. 20, Verses 33-40 [Jan. 7th, 2004|05:09 pm]
[mood |lit'rary]
[music |Presidents of the United States of America, The with "Toob Amplifier" from Presidents Of The Uni]

She mocks my ways!
She sits in judgment of my spirit and its actions.
She watches me, claiming my devotion to what I
truly belive is passing as so passes. With this
ideal before me, how cannot I fail?
She mocks the words I offer; she mocks the sacrifice
I give; she mocks the efforts I have.
O she mocks my ways!

-- Callidus Pertica, Ch. 20, Verses 33-40, by Chris Gruber (as Timothy Pridewin), 2000.
